If space is an issue, Duraco Underground Water tank is designed to provide the perfect solution to meet your requirement for water storage and domestic needs without taking up valuable space.

This tank model MUST be buried like a coffin, i.e. NO concrete base and NO retainer wall to be provided.

Site Selection

  • When digging the trench, it is very important to ensure the tank is fixed on stable soil.When installing the Underground water tank in areas at risk of flooding, waterlogging (where soil is saturated with water), or with a high ground water table, it is advised to protect the tank from external pressure being applied to the wall of the tank which can cause severe damage.

Trench – Digging Process

  • With respect to the length and width; and additional 30 cm around the tank should be digged
  • The slope should be adjusted to the soil conditions. The depth of the trench is given by the vessel height and an additional of 15cm (Fig. 2)

Compaction Process

The 15cm rocksand and stone free should be compacted by hand (As per Fig. 3)

Underground Water Tank Placement

The Underground Water Tank is lowered into the pit (As per Figure 4), and aligned on the rock sand bed using a spirit level. It is advised to position the house service connection; inlet, outlet and the overflow and realigned again with the spirit level (Figure 5)

The water tank tank should be filled at 30cm water level. The pit should be filled at 30 cm with rocksand and should be compacted by hand (Figure 6)

The process need to be repeated until the Water tank is filled and the pit is covered at the same time.

NOTE: Non-Compliance of these assembly instructions voids all warranty claims.

Plumbing

Your tank should be installed by a qualified plumber in accordance with regulations, ensuring piping and fittings are correctly done to avoid you any further issues with your tank.

Warranty Period

The Warranty is valid for Twelve years

The warranty applicable to your Duraco water tank is as follows:

First 4 years – Free replacement or free repair whichever may be necessary
5 to 6 years – 85% discount off the current retail price of the water tank or free repair,
whichever may be necessary
6 to 8 years – 70% discount off the current retail price of the water tank or free repair,
whichever may be necessary
8 to 10 years – 55% discount off the current retail price of the water tank or free repair,
whichever may be necessary
10 to 12 years – 40% discount off the current retail price of the water tank or free repair,
whichever may be necessary

Note:
The company’s obligations under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the water
tank, at the option of the company

Warranty Exclusions

  1. Accidental damage; acts of god; failure due to misuse; incorrect installation; attempts to repair the water tank other than by DURACO Ltée accredited service agent
  2. The warranty only applies to the water tank and does not cover any plumbing, or fittings supplied by the company such as float valve, outlet fittings, foot valve in case of underground tanks and lid
  3. Any leakage at outlet/inlet resulting from wrong plumbing installation
  4. Subject to any statutory provisions to the contrary, claims for damage to furniture,carpets, foundations or any other consequential loss either directly or indirectly due to leakage from the water tanks
  5. The warranty does not apply to tanks which have been used for storage of chemicals
  6. Where the water tank is not installed according to the instruction below

Installation instructions

Aboveground tanks

  1. All water tanks must be anchored on a smooth flat surface
  2. No external load should be applied to the tanks
  3. Inlet and outlet pipes should be adequately supported to avoid strain on the water tanks 

Underground tanks

  1. All underground tanks must be installed on flat concrete base and protected by a retaining wall to avoid any external pressure
  2. No external load should be applied to the tanks
  3. Inlet and outlet pipes should be adequately supported to avoid strain on the water tanks
